Connections
An Organization Bridging the Gaps
We strive to connect the Jewish high school student community to the broader minority community, while helping public school students who have fallen behind educationally due to the Covid-19 pandemic. To do this, we send Jewish high school students to community centers in underserved communities to serve as tutors. This program was created by YUHSB Juniors Arye and Raphael Unger, who when moving to Riverdale for middle school, started going to recreational centers throughout the Bronx for basketball. They started this initiative to give back to the community, and to help bridge their Jewish community with the wider minority community.
